Yes. myChecksAI performs digital Right to Rent checks via Yoti (IDSP certified by the Home Office) and AML screening that satisfies the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (as amended May 2025). Every report carries a named human sign-off and an audit log stored for 7 years.
What if the tenant doesn't use WhatsApp?
No problem. We're WhatsApp-first, not WhatsApp-only. The invite goes to the channels the tenant opts into — WhatsApp, SMS and email — and they can complete on any of them. The verification flow is identical either way.
How does WhatsApp opt-in and the 24-hour window work?
We use Meta-approved WhatsApp Business API templates for the first contact, with clear opt-in language. Inside Meta's 24-hour conversation window the tenant can reply freely; outside it, we re-open the conversation only with another approved template. Tenants can opt out at any time by replying STOP — and we'll switch them to SMS or email automatically, with no loss of progress.
What happens if a check fails or flags?
A human compliance officer reviews every "refer" outcome (PEPs hit, affordability under 2.5×, incomplete reference). You get a clear "pass / refer / fail" verdict with the underlying reason, not just a score — so you can make an informed decision.
How does the tenant's Open Banking consent work?
It's read-only, FCA-regulated (via GoCardless Open Banking), and 100% tenant-initiated from their own phone. The consent expires automatically after the 90-day window. We never see account credentials and can't move money — we just verify income.
What if an employer refuses to respond?
Our AI chases professionally 3 times over 48 hours. If no reply, you get a flagged "unverified" status with options: accept payslips, accountant letter, or decline the reference. The report notes which path was taken.
